For customers in the USA
How it works
Tell us the murti you like or the deity, size and finish you need, and your city.
We send a written quotation with the murti, packing and shipping to the USA shown separately.
Once you confirm, the murti is prepared or made, then checked before packing.
The murti is packed to protect the carving and shipped to your address.
Murti sizes in India are usually described by height in inches, which suits customers in the USA. Weight is often given in kilograms, so it helps to know that one kilogram is about 2.2 pounds. We can give dimensions in inches and centimetres and weights in pounds and kilograms, so you can compare them with your own measurements.
Before you enquire, measure the inside of your mandir or shelf in inches: height, width and depth. Leave space above the murti and in front of it for a diya, flowers and cleaning. If the murti will stand on a cabinet or a floor-standing mandir, check that the furniture can take the weight, as solid marble is heavier than most people expect.
Goods arriving in the United States are processed by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Whether duty is payable, and how much, depends on how the goods are classified under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, their declared value, their country of origin and the rules in force on the date of import. Tariff rules and the treatment of low-value shipments have changed several times in recent years, so we do not quote figures here. Please check the official sources linked on this page, or ask the courier or customs broker handling your shipment.
Couriers usually handle customs clearance for parcels and may charge a fee for doing so. Larger shipments sent by freight may need a customs broker, and a formal entry may be required for higher-value goods.
Small and medium murtis can often travel by international courier to your door. Large murtis and multi-piece sets are heavier and may travel by air or sea freight, in which case delivery within the USA can involve a freight terminal, a delivery appointment and sometimes a truck with a liftgate. If your address has steps, a narrow entrance or limited vehicle access, tell us when you enquire so the delivery can be planned properly.
Delivery estimates depend on the destination state, the size of the murti and the shipping method, and we confirm them in your quotation.
Many orders from the USA are timed for Ganesh Chaturthi, Janmashtami, Navratri, Diwali or a griha pravesh. Festival dates follow the Hindu lunar calendar and move each year, and a made-to-order murti needs time to be carved, finished, packed, shipped and cleared through customs. If you have a date in mind, mention it in your first message and we will tell you honestly whether it is realistic.
Temple committees and cultural organisations in the USA often need a set of murtis carved to match in style and proportion, sometimes to fit an existing sanctum. It helps to send drawings or photographs of the space, the sanctum dimensions and details of any pedestal. If a pran pratishtha date has been fixed, share it early so that carving, shipping and customs clearance can be planned backwards from that date.
We quote each international order individually, listing the murti, packing and shipping so you can see what you are paying for.

Import duties and taxes are set by the destination country. We explain what to expect when we quote, and point you to the official customs guidance for your country.
Enquire
FAQ
Yes. Murti heights are commonly measured in inches, and we can give weights in pounds as well as kilograms so you can check them against your shelf or mandir.
That depends on the tariff classification, the declared value and the US rules in force when the murti arrives, which have changed several times recently. Check with US Customs and Border Protection or your customs broker. Your quotation will state what is and is not included.
Large murtis may travel by freight rather than courier. Final delivery can involve an appointment and a truck with a liftgate, so tell us about steps, narrow doors or limited access when you enquire.
Please send the sanctum dimensions, photographs of the space and the number of murtis needed. We will reply with what is possible and how the work would be planned.
As early as you can. Custom carving, packing, international shipping and customs clearance all take time, and festival dates move each year. Tell us your date when you enquire and we will say whether it is achievable.
