For derasars, jinalays and sanghs
Who this is for
A new derasar needs the moolnayak, the pratimas of the gabhara and rang mandap, and the dev and devi murtis. We can carve them as one matched commission.
An existing derasar adding a pratima, a side shrine for a dev or devi, or a pratima that has to match those already installed.
The eyes, gaze, adornment and garment differ between the traditions, so we confirm your sangh's conventions with you before carving begins.
We ship worldwide, and our own packing team packs every pratima to export standards for the journey to your derasar.
About us
Swarnim Arts makes marble murtis in its own workshop in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Our murtis stand in many Jain mandirs, as well as in the Chhatarpur Mandir in Delhi and a Shani mandir.
Every murti is carved entirely by hand by our artisans in Jaipur.
From a small pratima for a side shrine to a large moolnayak, carved to the height your gabhara needs.
We work in Makrana marble, Vietnam marble, Jhiri marble and black stone, as well as other stones to suit each order.
We usually reply within 6 hours. Our team is available on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Iconography
Svetambara or Digambara, and your gachchh or sampraday where it matters. Svetambara pratimas usually have open eyes and are adorned; Digambara pratimas are unadorned, without a garment, with downcast eyes.
Which Tirthankara each pratima represents, and the lanchhan to be carved on the pedestal, as your sangh confirms it.
Seated in padmasana or standing in kayotsarga. A standing pratima needs considerably more height for the same presence.
The height of each pratima, with or without a parikar, matched to the gabhara, the niche and the pratimas already in your derasar.
Plain white, or painted with gold work. If your sangh needs plain white pratimas or the unadorned Digambara form, we carve to the specification your sangh and acharya give us.
Any instructions from your acharya or vidhikarak are written into the specification before carving begins, so there is no ambiguity later.
Tell us the date of the pratishtha or anjanshalaka when you first write. We estimate the time needed once we know the Tirthankara, height, posture and finish, confirm it in the written quotation, and plan the carving, packing and shipping around your date. The consecration itself is performed by your acharya, or as your sangh directs.
How commissioning works
The pratimas you need, their heights, your tradition, the gabhara dimensions and your pratishtha date.
Photographs of pratimas you like or already have, drawings of the gabhara and any notes from your acharya.
Free calls on Zoom or Google Meet with your committee, so trustees can ask questions and agree the details together.
A written quotation that can be shared with the sangh. The time needed is estimated once we know the Tirthankara, height, posture and finish.
Payment in stages as the pratimas take shape, fully settled before dispatch. For a derasar, we can agree a schedule that suits your committee.
Our artisans carve each pratima entirely by hand in our Jaipur workshop, to the agreed specification.
Our own packing team packs each pratima for the journey, according to its size, weight and delicacy.
To your derasar in India or abroad, or to the place where the anjanshalaka will be held. Shipping is quoted separately.
What to send
Not everything has to be decided before you write. If it is easier to talk it through, book a free video call.
FAQ
We carve each pratima to the conventions your sangh follows, so the tradition is the first thing we ask. Svetambara pratimas usually have open eyes and are adorned, while Digambara pratimas are unadorned, without a garment, with downcast eyes. Reference photographs from your own derasar help us match your sangh's style.
Yes. The pieces shown here are ones we have photographed. If your sangh needs another Tirthankara, such as Adinath, Shantinath or Neminath, tell us the lanchhan, the posture and the height, and we will carve to your sangh's specification.
Tell us the date when you first write. We estimate the time needed once we know the Tirthankara, height, posture and finish, and confirm it in the written quotation, so your committee can plan the carving, packing and shipping around the date.
For made-to-order murtis you pay in three stages as your murti takes shape: 50% advance to begin the work, 25% once carving is complete and before packing, and the remaining 25% before dispatch, so the order is fully settled before it ships. For larger temple projects we are happy to talk through a schedule that suits your committee.
Your acharya, or as your sangh directs. Consecration is a religious ceremony, and our role ends with carving, finishing, packing and delivery. Tell us where the pratimas need to be delivered for the ceremony.
Yes. We ship worldwide, and our own packing team packs every pratima to export standards. Shipping is quoted separately, and import rules in your country also apply.
Enquire
Share your tradition, the pratimas you need and your pratishtha date. We will reply with what is possible and a written quotation.
