How it works
Tell us the murti you like or the deity, size and finish you need, and your city.
We send a written quotation with the murti, packing and shipping to Canada shown separately.
Once you confirm, the murti is prepared or made, then checked before packing.
The murti is packed to protect the carving and shipped to your address.
Canada uses metric units officially, but many people still think about furniture and shelves in inches, and murti heights in India are usually quoted in inches too. We can give dimensions in both centimetres and inches and weights in kilograms and pounds. Measure the internal height, width and depth of your mandir, leaving room above and in front of the murti for a diya, flowers and cleaning.
Goods imported into Canada are assessed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Depending on the goods and their value, customs duty may apply, and sales tax is charged on imports. The federal GST applies across Canada. In provinces with a harmonized sales tax, HST is charged instead, and some provinces also have their own provincial sales tax. Which taxes apply to your shipment depends on where you live and the rules in force on the date of import, so we do not quote rates here.
When a courier clears goods through customs for you, they usually charge a brokerage or clearance fee in addition to any duty and tax. This fee varies by carrier and is separate from the amounts collected for the government. The CBSA website, linked below, explains how imports are assessed.
Small and medium murtis can often travel by international courier. Larger pieces may travel by freight, with the final delivery arranged by appointment. Canada is a large country, and deliveries to smaller towns or rural addresses can take longer than to major cities.
Winter weather can slow road deliveries and make carrying a heavy crate up icy steps more difficult. If you are ordering a large murti for delivery between late autumn and early spring, think about access to your home and allow extra time.
If you live in a condominium or apartment building, check whether large deliveries must be booked with building management and whether the service lift and loading area need to be reserved. Many buildings have rules about delivery times and the size of items that can be moved through common areas.
Delivery estimates depend on your province, the size of the murti and the shipping method, and we confirm them in your quotation.
Ganesh Chaturthi and Janmashtami usually fall in late summer, and Navratri and Diwali in the autumn, with dates changing each year. A made-to-order murti needs time for carving, finishing, packing, shipping and customs clearance. If you are ordering for a festival, a griha pravesh or the opening of a mandir, tell us the date at the start so we can say honestly whether it can be met.
Mandirs and community associations in Canada sometimes need several murtis made to match, or a single large murti for a new sanctum. A clear written specification helps a committee reach a decision. Send us sanctum drawings or photographs, the dimensions of the space and any guidance from your priest.
Each international quotation shows the murti, packing and shipping as separate items, so you can see the full cost before you decide.

FAQ
GST applies across Canada. Depending on your province, HST may be charged instead, or provincial sales tax may apply as well. The CBSA and your courier can confirm what applies to your shipment.
Couriers often charge a brokerage or clearance fee for handling customs paperwork and paying duty and tax on your behalf. It is the carrier's own charge and is separate from government duty and tax.
Yes, but winter weather can slow deliveries and make handling a heavy crate harder. Plan access to your home and allow extra time if a large murti is due to arrive in the colder months.
