Marble murtis

Medium Marble Murtis

Medium marble murtis are roughly 12 to 24 inches tall. They suit dedicated pooja rooms, floor-standing mandirs and smaller community shrines, where a murti needs to be seen clearly from a short distance.

Who chooses a medium murti

Medium murtis are a common choice for families with a separate pooja room or a large wooden or marble mandir. They are big enough for the carving of the face, hands and ornaments to be clearly visible, and they have a real presence without dominating a room. Smaller temples and community halls also use murtis in this range.

Weight and placement

Solid marble is dense, and a murti in this range can be much heavier than it looks, especially a group such as Radha Krishna or Shiv Parivar on a shared base. Check that the shelf, cabinet or platform is strong and level. Moving the murti usually needs two people, and it should be lifted from the base, not by the arms or crown.

Proportion in the mandir

Measure the internal height and width of the mandir and leave space around the murti for lamps, flowers and offerings. If you are placing several murtis together, decide which will be central and plan their relative heights before ordering. Photographs of your mandir help us suggest suitable proportions.

Finishes

At this size there is room for painted details, such as the eyes, lips and ornaments, or for gold work, as well as a plain polished finish. Painted and gilded areas need gentler cleaning than bare marble, so think about how the murti will be worshipped and cared for when choosing a finish.

Shipping medium murtis

Medium murtis may travel by courier or freight depending on their weight and packed dimensions. Delivery estimates depend on destination and shipping method, and we confirm them in your quotation.

FAQ

Common questions

What size range is a medium marble murti?

Will a medium murti fit in my home mandir?

Measure the internal height, width and depth of the mandir and compare them with the product dimensions, leaving space above and in front. If you send us the measurements, we can suggest suitable sizes.

How heavy is a medium marble murti?

It varies with height, width, form and base. Groups on a shared base weigh considerably more than a single slender figure. Where known, weights are given on product pages, or you can ask us for a specific piece.
