Regional and family traditions

Many families worship a kuldevi or kuldevta, a family or community deity, whose form may be specific to a region or even a single temple. Iconography can differ considerably between traditions, from the number of arms to the objects held and the vahana shown. When you enquire, it helps to share photographs of the form your family worships.

Asking about a custom murti

If you are looking for a deity not listed here, or a particular regional form, send us a reference image, the height you need and where the murti will be placed. We will reply to let you know what is possible. Clear photographs from the front and side of an existing murti or temple image are especially useful.
